Robert “Bobby” McDonald

Robert “Bobby” McDonald, one of Orange County’s most highly regarded business leaders and the current president and executive director of the Black Chamber of Commerce of Orange County, has been appointed to the KOCE-TV Foundation Board of Directors. The announcement was made by Mel Rogers, president and general manager of KOCE-TV.
“We are absolutely thrilled that Bobby has joined the KOCE Foundation Board of Directors,” said Rogers. “His impressive commitment and leadership within the Orange County community is an inspiration as we continue our mission to serve KOCE and the local community’s needs for educational, cultural and enriching programs.”
Growing up in South Central Los Angeles, McDonald learned early on what it took to overcome adversity. Never satisfied with mediocrity, he was the first black student body president of Harbor College in 1975 and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in physical education from California State University, Fullerton. He experienced success in the sports-merchandising field from 1984 to 1998, representing athletic, academic and print media companies. Since 1998, McDonald has served as president and executive director of the Black Chamber of Commerce of Orange County. As president, he has grown the chamber’s membership and community influence with innovation and creativity.
McDonald’s leadership extends beyond his professional life. In April 2004, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger appointed him to the California Cultural and Historical Endowment Board. In addition, California State University, Fullerton recently awarded him its 2003 Vision and Visionaries, Distinguished Alumni Award. In 2000, he was named the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Millennial Man of the Year and he received the National Alliance of Market Developers “Niche Marketing” award. McDonald is also a veteran of the United States Navy who served during the Vietnam War.
The KOCE-TV Foundation Board of Directors was created to unite and promote Orange County and bring awareness to its unique attributes throughout Southern California. McDonald will join fellow board members in pursuing the goals of KOCE, as well as the interests of the public and KOCE’s communities. In addition, he will assist in identifying beneficial resources for KOCE and support the station’s programs, project goals, and participate in business, community and social meetings.

Denita Willoughby

Denita Willoughby is the Vice President of External Affairs for AT&T. She leads the company’s local government and community affairs activities in the Los Angeles area where her team serves as the face of the company in the community. Ms. Willoughby is responsible for local policy and philanthropic initiatives.
Ms. Willoughby previously served as Vice President of TV Programming where she was responsible for acquiring content for AT&T’s new Internet Protocol (IP) television venture, known as Project Lightspeed. She also has held other leadership roles at AT&T including acting as the Regional Vice President for SBC-West where she had profit and loss responsibility in the business sales market.
Ms. Willoughby holds an engineering degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a MBA from Harvard University. She is the President and Founder of the Hi-Beta Investment Club, and a board member of the Digital Coast Round Table, The Los Angeles Police Foundation, The Los Angeles Urban League, Central Cities Association and the California Legislative Black Caucus Foundation. She was selected by the NAACP as the recipient of the “Black Woman of Achievement” award, and received the New Leader’s Trail Blazer’s Award. Ms. Willoughby has been featured in USA Today, Fortune and Today’s Black Woman.

Charles Clinton

Charles Clinton is the immediate past president of the National Black MBA Association, Los Angeles Chapter. Under his three and a half years of leadership, the chapter has experiences substantial growth in its corporate partnerships membership, and programs and in the level, quality and consistency of its professional and personal development program offerings. Other key initiatives include out reach to the entrepreneurial community. Charles also sits on the national organization’s President/CEO’s Chapter Presidents Advisory Board and has bee on the national conference operations team since 1998.
As an entrepreneur, he is a consultant who specializes in enterprise and marketing strategy, branding and product management for small minority owned businesses the Los Angeles area. The consultancy emphasis is to assist these companies and organizations become high performance enterprises.
Previously Mr. Clinton was involved in athletics, where he once played for the National Football League. He still periodically coached at the high school and college level track and football teams ( as one of the elite instructors and clinicians for the USA Track and Field High Performance Group).
Charles completed his undergraduate studies at San Jose State University, and later pursued his masters in business administration at California State University, Long Beach.

Keith Everett

Keith M. Everett is a Finance Manager for Boeing Satellite Systems. Keith’s current position includes all financial duties and responsibilities for a Major NASA satellite program with a total budget over $700 million. Keith has been with Boeing (Hughes) for more than 29 years holding a sundry of positions, most recently in the Finance organization.
Keith is also a program manager of the Boeing Satellite Systems Finance Intern program. He is an executive member of the Boeing Black Employees association in El Segundo, California.
Keith earned a B.A. degree in Economics and a M.B.A. from the University of Pittsburgh.
eith has achieved and completed numerous educational and training programs including the Center for Creative Leadership, La Jolla, California, Boeing Leadership management training Center, St Louis, Mo., UCLA Executive Management Development Program, and completed the UCLA Mergers and Acquisitions studies and courses. Keith is a lifetime member of the National Black MBA Association since 1988.
Prior to coming to Boeing, he worked at Rockwell International in Capital planning and the Ford Company as a financial analyst in Newport Beach, California. Keith was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. His son Christopher graduated from George Washington Law School in Washington D.C. and his daughter-in-law Jennifer is a recent graduate of the University of Virginia Law School.

Carolyn D. Trader
Chapter President |
Carolyn Trader is an established marketing and business development professional. She runs TMI Consulting Group, which specializes in aspects of marketing benefits and establishing business development strategies for small business procurement and strategic partnerships. She is experienced in marketing and, and corporate relations and enhances vertical platforms for internal and external business development for client services for emerging markets and created partnering opportunities through diversity initiatives.
Prior to her consulting business, Ms. Trader recently served as the Community Relations Officer for The California Endowment, a multi-billion dollar health philanthropy. There she managed community based marketing and public affairs efforts, to assist non-profits with maximizing their community outreach efforts through the funding of The California Endowment’s responsive grants to non-profits in throughout the California. She also oversaw several high profile executive projects that included an array of colorations with local and congressional politicians, non-profit executives, medical institutions and celebrity stakeholders.
Beforehand, she served as the Senior Marketing Manager for Fantastic Entertainment, Inc., as the Senior Marketing Manager, where she managed marketing platforms, advertising, tradeshows, promotional and media campaigns for their media and entertainment division of a European based broadband technology and software solutions to integrate their multicasting platform standards for broadband global distribution. Carolyn also worked on the marketing media strategy for the launch of an international partnership with NFL.com and Globalmedia.com.
Incrementally, Carolyn maintains per passion in media where she periodically produces and hosts a local televised public access program (a media platform for community relations) “L.A. Urban Treasures” where she interviews a myriad of executives from various local non-profit organizations, as part of her passion to share their story about various outreach programs and work these organizations provide to the community.
Prior to making her transition into the marketing, Ms. Trader worked in the financial services industry (marketing and sales). With over a decade of sales, marketing and business development experience, she was one of New York Life Insurance Company’s most successful specialty market agents. Ms. Trader took the experience gained from New York Life and opened an independent insurance business.
Ms. Trader received her Bachelors of Arts from California State University Los Angeles, (Cum Laude), a doubled major in Theater Arts and Communication, (Broadcasting). Carolyn obtained her Masters in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. She currently serves President of the National Black MBA (NBMBAA), Los Angeles Chapter, and also serves as an advisory board member Santa Monica College (Business Department) and the Orange County Black Chamber of Commerce and National Association of Women MBA. She is also a distinguished member of, Phi Kappa Phi (honorary fraternity) and the Golden Key Honors Society, Association of Marketing Professionals, and the Nation Association of African American Insurance Agents, and supporter of The Marathon Club and the National Black Business Council, National Association of African-American in Human Resources and is a long-time, prior member of Jack-N-Jill, Inc.
