If you are looking for a network of business professionals with a commitment to education, career development and promoting the economic wealth of the African American community…… the National Black MBA Association is for you.

As one of the 42 chapters of the National Black MBA Association, we provide access to knowledge and success through our five channels of engagement: education, career, leadership, entrepreneurship and lifestyle.

The Los  Angeles Chapter of the National Black MBA Association was incorporated in 1979. It is one of the six original chapters in the National Organization.  Currently we are one of the largest chapters in the country with nearly 1,000 Members.  Our history in the organization is rich, including that we are one of only 3 chapters to host the NBMBAA National Conference three times (1980, 1990, 1999).  We hold 501(3)c Non-Profit status.

In 2007, we experienced significant and exciting growth with 101 new or renewing members!!  Of these members, 106 business men and women have made a commitment of lifetime membership in the Los Angeles Chapter. We welcomed new members from all over Southern California from Simi Valley to San Diego to Santa Monica to San Bernardino and beyond as far as Las Vegas.  Our members work in both the public and private sectors and represent every industry and business emphasis. 

Do you know what the qualifications are to become a member?  The National Black MBA Association has several types of memberships.  Membership is open not only to persons with an MBA, but with any Masters Degree or PhD.  Are you an Entrepreneur, Business Leader or Business Owner?  We have Associate Membership for established Business Owners, Business Leaders and Entrepreneurs.  Student Membership is open to anyone seeking a Masters Degree of any kind. 

MEMBERSHIP QUALIFICATIONS

• Full Membership – available to individuals with an MBA or other advanced management degree. (Annual or Life Memberships)
• Associate Membership – available to the individual who has distinguished him or herself in the business community through management experience or entrepreneurial endeavors without an advanced degree. (Annual or Life Memberships)
• Student Membership – available to individuals actively pursuing an advanced management degree (Annual Memberships)
